What: Selective Mutism peer practice and parent support group

v  Children with SM engage in semi-structured play activities and have the opportunity to practice interacting with similarly aged peers. The group will be facilitated by Lisa Wheeler-Garg, M.S., LLP.

v  Parents have the opportunity to share successes and struggles in a private environment with other parents of kids with SM.

When: Ongoing group on Thursday at 6pm, starting October 3rd, 2019

v  Weekly attendance is not required, but there must be a minimum of 3 children signed up each week for the group to run

v  Interested families will be emailed each Monday morning and must RSVP by the Tuesday evening before group each week

Where: Thriving Minds Behavioral Health in Brighton, MI

Who: children 5-10 years of age with Selective Mutism and their parents

Cost: $50 per meeting. Payment must be received before or at the time of the meeting.

Already in treatment? Group peer practice is often one of the more challenging verbal tasks for kids with Selective Mutism and therefore practicing in a supportive environment can greatly supplement your existing treatment goals.

Participants must be current or past patients at Thriving Minds.
