Thriving Minds is devoted to helping children, adolescents, and families THRIVE
through effective, caring and engaging intervention.

What makes us different?

Quick support with our immediately-scheduled 90-minute parent consultations (including resources and recommendations)

Dr. Aimee Kotrba started Thriving Minds in Brighton in 2012 with a desire to provide excellent services to kids and teens in her community. Since that time, we have expanded our services to four different locations in Michigan in response to the great need for expert mental health treatment. We love supporting pediatricians, schools, and parents in helping kids thrive.

Thriving Minds’ core values include amazing care for our clients, the best customer support, and growth/respect for our clinicians. In fact, we prioritize collaboration, learning and high-quality training for clinicians through weekly consultation meetings and internal trainings led by experts in the practice. We want to make sure that you and your family receive the BEST therapeutic experience.

What our Clients Say

“Our therapist at Thriving Minds helped teach us effective parenting strategies that weren’t part of the normal parenting tool kit! I wish we would have taken this as a class when our children were born! Now we feel more empowered to support our child.”

“I just wanted to send a note to thank you for all you have done for our family. I am reminded of this today as she went off to her first day of Kindergarten and had a great day! There were no tears when we dropped her off at the classroom door this morning and she was verbal with all three teachers in the classroom during the school day. She spoke more than one-word utterances, initiated conversation with them, and used a good volume voice. Thank you for all that you taught us about selective mutism and how to help our daughter; we appreciate your time, knowledge and patience more than we can express..”

“Our family has been blessed by Dr. Kotrba and Thriving Minds. Her work is top notch! She has a great team and is helping families everywhere. I don’t think I understood Selective Mutism at all until I heard Dr. Kotrba speak about it. Getting in touch with Thriving Minds was one of the BEST decisions we have ever made. We will always be very grateful.”

“We couldn’t have had a better experience at Thriving Minds. Nancy was so kind when I first called; she immediately put me at ease. Our therapist was so helpful and taught my son new ways of dealing with anger and frustration. Thank you for what you do in our community!”
